Hudson Thornton nominated for WHL Defenceman of the Year award

CALGARY — A big honour for Prince George Cougars defenceman Hudson Thornton.

The 20-year-old has been nominated as a nominee for the WHL’s Defenceman of the Year Award.

This after he scored 18 goals and added 56 assist for 74 points this past regular season. It was good for fourth overall in scoring among defenceman in the league.

Thornton closes out his major junior career with 56 goals and 140 assists for 196 points in 207 regular-season games.

The 5-foot-11, 181-pound rearguard owns the all-time record for points, goals and assists by a Cougars defenceman since the team moved to Prince George in 1994-95.
