KINGS PLAYOFFS

PREVIEW: Spruce Kings set to take on Penticton Vees in Round 1 of BCHL playoffs

Apr 5, 2024 | 2:04 PM

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings kick off their post-season against the Penticton Vees.

It was a forgettable regular season for the Spruce Kings. The team finished with the 2nd worst record in the BCHL and the worst record in the interior conference. But with the BCHL losing the Wenatchee Wild last year it was still enough to qualify for the post-season as the #8 seed.

Despite two opposite records, the Spruce Kings aren’t selling themselves short in this series. The team knew they would be facing Penticton for two weeks now. As a result, it has allowed the Spruce Kings to play stress-free hockey. A mindset that will also be carried into Friday’s game.

Don’t be surprised if Prince George steals a game or two right away. The Vees come into this series having lost four of their last five games. All on home ice. While the Spruce Kings have played well to close out the regular season.

Puck Drop for Game 1 goes Friday, April 5th at 7 PM
