Cougars will face Kelowna in round 2 of the WHL playoffs

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars finally know who they’ll be playing in the second round of the WHL playoffs.

It will be the Kelowna Rockets, after the Rockets defeated the Wenatchee Wild 4-2 Sunday in Kelowna to clinch the series, four games to two.

The seven-game series kicks off this Friday night at CN Centre, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. The teams play again Saturday night at 6 p.m. You can grab tickets at ticketsnorth.ca or at the CN Centre box office.

Games 3 and 4 will take place April 16th and 17th in Kelowna with Game 5, if necessary, back at CN Centre on Friday, April 19th. Game 6 would take place in Kelowna on Sunday April 21 with Game 7, if necessary in Prince George on Tuesday, April 23.

In other action Sunday, the Everett Silvertips beat the Vancouver Giants 5-0 to win that series 4 games to 1. Everett will now meet Portland in the second round. Game 1 goes Friday night in Portland.
