Four weekend fires suspected to be human-caused
PRINCE GEORGE— The BC WIldfire Service says four fires that sparked over the weekend in the central Interior are suspected to be human-caused.
That includes the two fires out in the Vanderhoof and Fort St James area, the fire on Chief Lake Road near Ness Lake and the Burgess Creek wildfire between Williams Lake and Quesnel.
Evacuation alerts remain in effect for the fire just west of Endako (G40119) and the Burgess Creek wildfire. The 1,600 hectare Burgess Creek wildfire is located approximately 50 kilometres southeast of Quesnel and 45 kilometres north of Williams Lake. It’s also 20 kilometres east of Highway 97. No structures have been lost.
