Llamas look for a haircut and a new home

PRINCE GEORGE— Meet Calypso, Monique, and Mack. These three lovely Llamas currently call the Prince George Animal Rescue their home.

Currently, the Llamas are waiting to be sheared as when the Rescue received them it was too late in the season for it. That being said, they are booked with a professional shearers and once they get a haircut and a clean bill of health they will be ready for a new home.

The Rescue is particularly interested in providing a youth in 4-H with some beginner livestock as they were trained for showmanship by their previous owner.

“These guys are really easy to handle,” says Nicola Redpath, the owner/operator of the PG Animal Rescue. “It’s an excellent opportunity for any of the juniors that want to get into doing 4-H stuff.”

Unfortunately, Monique did lose her ears when a dog attacked her. This has led to issues with her being able to see out of her right eye but it’s healed up and there are no further complications.

Llamas are herd animals and because these three were raised together it’d be best if they were adopted by the same family. If you are looking to add a Llama to your farm you can visit the PG animal rescue website.
