PRINCE GEORGE – Ensuring your home is FireSmart protects your property and significantly contributes to safeguarding your entire neighbourhood. It’s a small step that can make a big difference in our community’s resilience against wildfires.

According to BC FireSmart, we are responsible for making our properties fire-safe.

To reduce the risk, it is recommended that we clear any combustible material around the house’s perimeter and trim grass and weeds to below 10 centimetres. Prune trees to create a two-meter clearance from the ground to the lowest branches.

Move firewood lumber and other combustible material 10-30 meters from home.
