Monster Madness takes over CN Centre, delivers car crushing action to packed stadium

PRINCE GEORGE – Who knew destroying smaller cars with a bigger car could be so fun? Apparently, thousands of community members knew that, as the CN Centre was packed for this year’s Monster Madness! Monster Madness 2024 saw such huge community demand that an extra show was added, as there was the originally planned 2:30 show but also the extra 4:30 show today (May 11).

The drivers of the monster trucks say that piloting those commanding beasts is just as fun as it looks.

“The adrenaline rush, it’s awesome. The thrill of being able to crush a car and not being able to feel it inside due to the shocks that are all absorbing all that, it’s just something phenomenal. You can’t just experience that any day,” said monster truck driver Jason Court.

“So much adrenaline. It’s hard to explain. It’s just amazing,” added monster truck driver Perry Como.

The monster trucks crushed cars under its wheels with ease as the drivers drove over them, pulled off some big jumps, and showed off some drifts for an audience of thousands who was cheering on all the tricks. While the driving itself is an incredible experience, Como says for him he enjoys the crowd reaction even more.

“That’s the biggest thing I come for is the kids. Their cheers just warms my heart and just makes this all worth it,” Como said.

As for the fans, one big monster truck fan was thrilled that she got to see some live action. Jasmin Fiddler says she would watch a lot of monster truck videos on Youtube, but this was her first live experience, which she said prior to the show would likely end up being one of the best days ever for her.

“I think it’s really cool how they can get up in a huge truck and go over cars. I don’t think I would have the guts to do it, so it takes some major guts,” Fiddler said.

With thousands of cheering fans enjoying the show and cheering on the trucks, it’s likely this isn’t the last time we’ll see Monster Trucks take over the CN Centre.
