Petition launched to stop relocation of bus stop on Davis Road

PRINCE GEORGE — A petition has been launched opposing the relocation of the bus stop from Foster/Davis roads on to Ospika Boulevard.

It has close to 300 signatures and was launched by the Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Society.

In a letter to Prince George City Council dated May 20, they believe the relocation of the bus stop will result in a series of negative consequences – including on seniors with mobility impairments that use canes and walkers to get around.

They note it’s also located near the Sikh Gurdwara, where congregants use that stop.

The Society says that location has been notorious and has resulted in fatalities in the past among pedestrians, adding the relocation will lead to more vehicles on the road – the opposite goal of public transportation.
