RCMP investigate stabbing in Burns Lake

BURNS LAKE — A stabbing in Burns Lake on Monday (May 27) sent one man to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

North District RCMP say the stabbing occurred at a residence on Third Avenue.

“When police arrived, they found one adult man with injuries, while another person was administering first aid. The victim was taken to hospital where he is reported to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries,” says Cpl. Madonna Saunderson.

She says two people were later arrested without incident, in connection with the stabbing. One person was released on court compelling documents while the other person was held in custody pending further investigation.

Saunderson says all involved are known to each other and police believe this to be a targeted incident. She adds there is nothing to suggest there is a further risk to the public.
