Another stabbing in Burns Lake

BURNS LAKE — For the second time in less than a week, RCMP are investigating a stabbing in Burns Lake.

Police say the latest stabbing occurred on Sunday (June 2) with police notified that the suspect was at the local hospital.

“When police arrived, they located the suspect in the lobby and she was arrested without incident. Police learned that two people had been stabbed and that a potential third victim was at a residence where the assault may have happened,” says the RCMP.

Police later found the third victim and all three received medical treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

“Individuals involved are known to each other and police do not believe there to be a further risk to the general public.”

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Burns Lake RCMP at (250)692-7171.

Sunday’s incident followed a stabbing on Monday May 27 when one man was sent to hospital following a stabbing at a residence on Third Avenue in Burns Lake.

A man suffered non-life threatening injuries and two people were later arrested.
