1 in 3 British Columbians ‘seriously considering’ leaving BC
PRINCE GEORGE — A new survey from the Angus Reid Institute shows that one in three British Columbians are seriously considering leaving the province, citing a number of concerns including the cost of living and housing affordability.
The survey found that half of 18- to 34-year-olds and more than two-in-five 35- to 54-year-olds say they are seriously thinking of leaving the province because of the cost of housing.
In 2023, the province lost 8,000 more residents to other provinces than it gained, a net loss not seen since 2012.
