PRINCE GEORGE— Every year thousands of British Columbians need to travel out of their home town for medical appointments. Often those travel costs come out of the patients pocket. To help ease the burden Hope Air has been providing travel arrangements for patients across 196 communities, including free airfare, transit, hotels and meals.

Hope Air is marking June 17 as Hope Air Day, a time to celebrate the support from volunteers and recognize the difference they have made in patients lives. In addition Hope Air is thanking the Province for helping to ensure everyone can connect with the healthcare they need regardless of distance or financial means.

“Hope Air is amazing in my estimation and I don’t know what we would have done without Hope Air,” says Lutrecia Macdonald, a patient who used their services in order to get surgery in Vancouver. “They are so great in helping Canadians and without them I don’t know what we would have done financially.”
