Nine schools take part in the 3rd Annual Girls at Bat Jamboree

PRINCE GEORGE — Elementary Schools across the community took part in the 3rd Annual Girls at Bat Jamboree Wednesday. An event that is sponsored by the Blue Jays Care Foundation and gives girls the opportunity to try out baseball and fall in love with a sport.

Three years ago it was just two schools taking part in the games. Now nine different schools are involved with the jamboree. With it expanding so much, an all-new rookie division for both boys and girls participated for the first time this year.

The event took place at the College Heights Recreational baseball fields. The Jays Care Foundation donated a $ 1,000 grant to help put on the event and the program is implemented by schools and community organisations all across the country.
