Building permits up in May
PRINCE GEORGE — On Monday, city council received a building permit and development permit summary for May with 33 permits issued for the month.
The May total is made up of eight commercial/industrial permit and 25 residential permits, worth a combined total of $41.5 million. The month continued the strong start to the years for permits.
Councillor Garth Frizzell says that until “April, we were really quite concerned because we’d seen a market downturn.” Frizzell also said that what “we saw in May was a dramatic bounce back [and] that was driven partially by the $50 million parkade … but also by mutli-family dwellings.”
