Washington selects Cougars forward Terik Parascak 17th overall

LAS VEGAS — The Prince George Cougars heard their name get announced on Friday night (June 28) during round one of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

With the 17th overall selection the Washington Capitals picked Cougars forward Terik Parascak. The BC Division Rookie of the Year tallied 105 points for Prince George this year, scoring 43 goals and adding 62 helpers in 68 games.

The winger is the first Prince George Cougar selected in the first round since 2010, when Brett Connolly was picked 6th overall by Tampa Bay.

The draft continues on Saturday in Vegas, with fellow Cougar Ondrej Becher potentially being the next Cougar to come off the board.
