PRINCE GEORGE – Thanks to thousands of hours of volunteer work, Prince George is now home to one of northern BC’s largest multi-use mountain bike parks. The Tabor Mountain Bike Park, located less than 20 minutes from downtown, has officially opened.

The trails on Tabor Mountain have come alive with the sounds of mountain bikes. Trail crews have completed and opened several kilometres of mountain bike trails to bikers in the past few weeks.

“ We have recently opened the bottom half of BFG and it’s, dedicated jump line and it’s got an assortment of jumps, table tops, drop offs”

Edward Day

Trails Director, Association of Caledonia Trailbuilders

Over the past few years, a dedicated group of mountain bike riders, with the support of stakeholders, has developed a plan to lay out one of the largest bike parks in northern BC.

Over the last several years, mountain bike tourism has increased in the province, and according to Dan Domes Tabor, it has become a go-to destination for out-of-town riders.

“ This Tabor Mountain complex, it’s going to attract people who are traveling the highway 16 mountain bike corridor, who are traveling the highway 97 mountain bike corridor. They’ll be able to stop in Prince George, have some riding that equals just about anywhere in the province.”

Dan Domes

President, Association of Caledonia Trailbuilders

The trail design offers riding suitable for all skill levels, making it an inclusive destination for everyone.
