PRINCE GEORGE — The Deciduous Heroes Tour wraps in Prince George Wednesday night (July 3).

Jen Cote of Moose, Mushrooms and Mud and local MLA and longtime trapper Mike Morris will join Stop the Spray BC founder James Steidle to talk about the value of the deciduous trees we spray with herbicides or suppress with brush saws to grow conifer plantations.

Stop the Spray says extensive spraying has significantly reduced the amount of aspen, birch and cottonwood tree cover which increases the risk of fire and reduces the wildlife carrying capacity of the forests.

The tour has made multiple stops, including in Oregon and the Okanagan. Steidle says it’s been an opportunity to hear stories from different communities who are facing similar issues.
