Prince George to be hit by heat wave
PRINCE GEORGE – It’s been a cooler, wetter summer up to this point, but the temperatures are set to skyrocket in just a couple of days. By Saturday we could see a high of 28°C, and the following Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, could all eclipse 30°C.

While it will certainly be hot, the City of Prince George’s Manager of Emergency Programs Tanya Spooner says the City will not be opening its cooling centres, as the requirements set out by the BC Provincial Heat and Alert System are not met.
“We consider a heat warning to come into effect when temperatures are over 29 degrees during the day and drop no lower than 14 overnight. The upcoming heat trend is not expected to meet that, so we are not planning on activating cooling centers. However, we’re monitoring it really closely to make sure that if the forecast changes, that we can easily ramp up our services,” Spooner said.
