Planned power outages set for this week

PRINCE GEORGE—B.C. Hydro is hard at work tuning up the electrical grid with multiple planned outages taking place this week.

The first outage begins on July 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will affect power to those one 1209-1221 Eaglet Crescent and 1199-1362 Jarvis St.

The following day another outage is schedule for 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Customers living in 4189, 4195, 4203 Jackson Crescent will be affected.

The largest outage is taking place on July 11. It will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will end at 6:00 a.m. the following day. It is expected to affect 3437 customers.

On Friday, July 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. another outage is planned. it will affect 3333 22 Ave. For a list of planned power outages, click here.

Before an outage B.C. Hydro recommends turning off electric heaters, major appliances, and unplug sensitive electronics to protect them from damage. For the first hour after the power turns back on, only plug in electronics and appliances that you really need. This will help give the system time to stabilize and protects it from getting overloaded.
