PRINCE GEORGE — It’s a chance to own a brand new home and also provide support to healthcare in Northern BC. The Copper Project benefits the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation as net proceeds from the sale of this home go directly to support healthcare in the North. An open house is being held Thursday to show off the house as well as bring awareness to the project.

There was a BBQ from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, there is free ice cream for kids from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm, and you can enter to win a $100 gift card from Earls and a wine basket.

The house is located at 7208 Hillu Road, which is in the in the Legacy Park Subdivision up in the Hart. Over 50 different partners from the community, along with Copper Falls, are involved in the project.

Since the Copper Project started, over $450,000 has gone to support vital medical equipment at UHNBC. In 2023 alone, the project’s generosity enabled the foundation to receive a record-breaking donation of over $140,000.

According to Spirit of the North, 2023’s contributions from the Copper Project has supported the acquisition of Infusion Pumps, bolstered the Regional Cardiac Strategy as well as advancing other key areas in healthcare in the North.
