PRINCE GEORGE — Provincial election candidates from three ridings in the Prince George area will take part in all-candidates-forum events in October at UNBC.

The forums will focus on energy transition and will be hosted by the UNBC Energy Transition Group, the Prince George Electric Vehicle Association and the UNBC Sustainability Team.

The Prince George-Valemount riding forum will take place on Oct. 1, with Prince George-Mackenzie to follow on Oct. 2 and Prince George-North Caribou to finish the series on Oct. 3.

The forums are scheduled to run from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Canfor Theatre.

Globally, we are seeing a shift to using cleaner, more efficient and less expensive electric technologies for our buildings, transportation and industry, according to a joint press release issued by the hosts.

This shift, commonly referred to as the energy transition, is expected to impact our lives by reducing pollution and providing less expensive energy for British Columbians, says the release.
