Beaver River wildfire prompts evacuation order

ROBSON VALLEY — The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George has issued an evacuation order due to the Beaver River wildfire, east of McBride.

The evacuation order is affecting 10 properties and are located in the map below:

Those living in the evacuation order zone must leave the area immediately. The public is asked to visit the rdffg.ca for updated information or to call their Emergency Operations Centre at the following number: 1-250-960-4400.

The original Evacuation Alert issued on July 20 is still in place for other area properties.

The Beaver River fire is now 500 hectares in size and is classified as out-of-control. The fire was discovered on July 19 and is believed to have been caused by lightning.
