Spruce Kings commit Toronto-born defenseman

PRINCE GEORGE— The Prince George Spruce Kings have announced the commitment of defenseman Jayden Connors for the 2024/25 season.

“We’re excited to add Jayden to our program. He’s a young, very skilled and mobile defenseman,” says Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes. “We’re looking forward to working with Jayden on his development as he prepares for NCAA Hockey.”

The 5’10”, 170-pound product of Toronto, Ontario, spent last season with the St. Michaels Buzzers of the OJHL. last season Connors made two goals and earned 21 assists in 46 games. During the playoffs he added one goal and two assists in 10 games.

Connors is excited for the opportunity to play for Prince George saying “The organization is respected throughout the country and is known for having an amazing fan base. I am looking forward to working hard and becoming the kind of player that can really contribute to the success of the Spruce Kings. Playing in the BCHL means playing in one of the most competitive junior leagues in the world. The BCHL consistently has alumni play in the NHL and I am looking forward to the challenge.”
