Need a goat? the PG Animal Rescue has some ready to adopt

PRINCE GEORGE—The PG Animal Rescue received some goats that were surrendered by the Baldy Hughes Treatment Center. Now these goats are in search of green pastures and even greener watermelon rinds.

“Unfortunately, the treatment center is shutting down. Hopefully it’s just going to be a temporary thing and then they’ll start up again on a bigger, better level,” says Nicola Redpath, owner of the PG animal Rescue. “In the meantime, we took on the five goats that were there.”

The goats are a little timid but will come up to say hello. Redpath believes that just a little tender love and care will have these goats warm up to you.

The hardest part about keeping goats is their infamous ability to test a fence. Redpath recommends fencing them in using paige wire fence to ensure no goats make a great escape and to prevent any predators from getting in.

If you would like to adopt these goats you can fill out an application on the PG Animal Rescue website. If accepted the PG Animal Rescue will do a home check to ensure you have adequate housing, shelter and a good hay supply.
