Day of Caring

Alberta Day of Caring For Jasper takes place Wednesday

Jul 31, 2024 | 5:00 AM

On Wednesday (July 31) The Alberta Day of Caring for Jasper will take place.

Alberta radio stations have united to bring this province-wide event to their local communities across Alberta.

Partnering with the Alberta Bottle Depot Association, the Alberta Day of Caring for Jasper aims to be the largest bottle drive Alberta has seen in support of the Canadian Red Cross.

Proceeds raised will be used for assisting those impacted in Jasper and other affected areas in Alberta with immediate and ongoing relief including financial assistance, support to evacuees and the communities hosting them, recovery and resilience efforts in response to the wildfires, as well as supporting community preparedness and risk reduction for future all-hazard disaster events within Alberta.

Albertans may donate their empty cans & bottles on Wednesday, July 31 to any Alberta Bottle Depot, and simply say that “These are for Jasper”. They will be counted at the local bottle depot, with the refund amounts donated directly to the Alberta Day of Caring for Jasper.

Alternatively, you are welcome to make a monetary donation to the day online at www.albertadayofcaring.com.

You can also text the word RADIO (all caps) to 20222, to make a $10 donation. All donations made to the Alberta Day of Caring for Jasper will be matched twice, once by the Alberta Provincial Government, and a second match by the Federal Government.
