CARIBOO— The Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre has rescinded their evacuation order in the Chilcotin Confluence South Area. This after the landslide in the Chilcotin river forced those near the river to flee.

For residents returning to the area the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) is reminding those that landslide and river assessment is continuous and ongoing in the area. Avoid interfering with any monitoring activity and stay aware of the potential for slides or flooding.

In addition it’s important to prepare yourself emotionally as the community you return to may not look the same. If you are impacted by a structure loss or significant property damage, the (EOC) will attempt to contact you prior to your return.
