Prince George Fire Rescue responds to blaze in Vanway

PRINCE GEORGE —Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a fire in Vanway off Konrath Road at approximately 2 a.m. Thursday morning (Aug.15).

Crews from two halls arrived to find a debris pile on fire at the City owned snow dump. Firefighters have contained the fire, which grew to as large as 100 metres in width. Fire crews were assisted by heavy equipment operators from the City as well as independent contractors.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and there were no injuries.
