PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue doused a structure fire on the 700-block of Ewert Street Saturday (Aug.17) morning.
The City says firefighters arrived on scene at approximately 9:30 a.m. to find thick black smoke coming from the windows of a middle unit, of a four-unit complex.
“A quick attack of the fire by crews, kept damage to the property to the single unit. The estimated cost of damage to the residence is $100,000,” says the City.
The cause is believed to have been caused by the ignition of cooking oil on a stove.
