FireJohnRustad.ca and Microchips: The BC Conservatives face a difficult few days

Aug 21, 2024 | 2:47 PM

PRINCE GEORGE — Two months out from the provincial election and things are heating up in the race of who will become B.C.’s next government. A website has popped up calling for the Leader of the Conservative Party of BC, John Rustad to be fired and BC United is continuing its offensive on Prince George-Mackenzie Conservative candidate Rachael Weber.

firejohnrustad.ca is the website that has appeared from “members of the BC Conservative Party… who are severely concerned by the abandonment of Conservative values of the party.” According to the website, it says that Rustad will “choose whoever it takes to get into power, while abandoning the core principles of the party.” The website uses former BC United MLA Teresa Wat as an example, saying that she “has proudly supported the Chinese Communist Party” and has “strong ties to Beijing”. Another candidate featured on the website is Gwen O’Mahony, who is running in Nanaimo-Lantzville, who was an NDP MLA from 2010 to 2013.

Political science instructor Chris Beach says that with a change in leadership, the party’s old guard maybe trying to take back some its power, but it’s not just internal party politics that is dominating the conversation, social media posts from BC Conservative Candidate for Prince George-Mackenzie Rachael Weber were released to the press by BC United, and that attracted attention of Premier David Eby, saying that John Rustad should “come out and explain why his candidates believe that cell phone towers cause Covid-19 and are genocidal weapons.”

Just today, another press release from BC United bringing up another social media post from Rachael Weber suggesting that microchips and credit cards are signs of the Antichrist’s arrival and the impending Rapture. As of Wednesday, August 21, Rachael Weber is still a candidate with the Conservative Party of BC. Chris Beach says that despite BC United’s efforts to hamper Weber’s campaign, the Conservatives have said they won’t bow to cancel culture.

CKPG News reached out to Rachael Weber for comment but did not receive a response.
