PRINCE GEORGE — BC United has pledged to relocate the Ministry of Forests head office to Prince George from Victoria if it wins government in October.

It’s part of the party’s forestry strategy which it says will revitalize BC’s forestry sector.

BC United says relocating the ministry to Prince George would ensure decisions that impact resource dependent communities are made by employees from those communities.

The party also promised to rename Crown Land to ‘Public Land’ “to ensure transparent, consultative decision-making that considers the broad public interest. We will also prioritize agreements with First Nations and reform revenue sharing.”
