Aquatic Centre to close for annual maintenance next week

PRINCE GEORGE — If you were hoping to go for a swim at the Aquatic Centre, you’ll have to adjust your plans.

The City is closing the pool for annual maintenance from September 2 to October 6.

“Even though the funding has recently been approved for some extensive maintenance work on this facility, that is not starting until summer 2025, so it is necessary for the annual closure for scheduled maintenance and cleaning to take place,” says the City.

The City notes the pools will be drained and deep cleaned, as well as the following scheduled upgrades:

  • Installing new bleachers
  • Putting new cardio equipment into the gym area
  • Regular maintenance

During the closure the Canfor Leisure Poll will operate under extended hours.

The Canfor Leisure Pool will be closed for one day on Friday August 30 for maintenance (mechanical testing and calibration). All swimming lessons on this date have been moved to the Aquatic Centre.

The annual maintenance for the Canfor Leisure Pool is scheduled between December 2 and January 5.
