“When I got the email, from, Her Honour’s office that she was looking to nominate me, at first I thought she was looking for me to nominate someone else. I read the email further and was really shocked honestly and overwhelmed. I understand that I’m being recognized with this honour just to due to a variety of works, whether it’s my time on city council or work in the business community or in the non-profit community where I try to give my time as much as possible to various causes and organizations here in Prince George and the North.” – Councillor Kyle Sampson

The Government of B.C. presented 551 medals. All members of the legislative assembly and cabinet ministers were invited to participate in awarding the medals, ensuring they reach as many deserving people in the province as possible.
