TimberWolves wrap home weekend with draw and loss
PRINCE GEORGE — The UNBC Timberwolves men’s soccer team wrapped up their home weekend slate with a 4-0 loss to the powerhouse Victoria Vikes. The loss comes a day after the TWolves earned a draw on Friday night.
Matthew Pearse, Evan Larson, Jack Napier-Ganley and Archie Tugwell all had goals for the Vikes while Callum Weir recorded his second clean sheet in as many days. Logan Pierce responded with eight saves in the UNBC goal.
It wasn’t until the 45th minute of the contest when the ice was broken by the reigning Canada West player of the week Matt Pearse found the back of the net. Shots at the half were 8-0, the score 1-0.
The Vikes would add three more markers in the second half to secure the victory and improve their record to 3-0-1. UNBC is now 0-3-1.
