PRINCE GEORGE—CEO and President of The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) Gordon Duke has announced that he will retire at the end of 2024.

Duke joined the PGAA in 2019 and spent most of his tenure navigating the Covid-19 pandemic. While the pandemic has reshaped the aviation industry the PGAA says that Duke demonstrated exceptional leadership, guiding the organization through unprecedented challenges and building lasting relationships within the community. This includes their meaningful partnership with the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation.

“Gordon has been a steady and dedicated leader during a time of significant change,” said Derek Dougherty, Board Chair of PGAA. “His commitment to the success of the airport and its community has been exemplary. As we prepare for his departure, the Board has formed a search committee to identify our next CEO, a task we do not take lightly.”

Reflecting on his time at PGAA, Duke says that it’s been a privilege to lead the authority and that he’s “deeply proud of the progress we have made as an organization, and the incredible partnerships we’ve formed. While I look forward to new chapters in my life, I will always cherish my time at PGAA and the community that supported our journey.”
