Cougars open pre-season with loss to Oil Kings

EDSON, ALTA. — The Prince George Cougars began pre-season WHL play with a 6-3 loss to the Edmonton Oil Kings on Saturday (Sept. 7) in Edson, Alta.

Evan Groening scored twice and Carson Carels added a single for the Cougars, whose goaltender, Brady Holtvogt, stopped 45 shots in a losing effort.

The rematch is slated for noon in Edson.
