PRINCE GEORGE— Aiden Foster is heading into his second year with the Cougars as they prepare to battle against sky high expectations. In his rookie season, Foster only put up nine points between the regular season and playoffs but it was his physical game and 124 penalty minutes that stood out.

“The other parts of hockey are very important, playing the body, being aggressive. He’s six three. He’s a big guy that’s not afraid to get in there and throw his body around,” said Cougars GM and Head Coach Mark Lamb on Foster. “The importance of that in the regular season and in playoffs is immense.”

It’s not just his coach but also the Lloydminster native who understands what that part of the game can do for his teammates.

“I just try to give the boys a little more energy and get them up. So then they kind of start following after I give a hit or take a hit and just get in a battle,” said Foster on why he plays a tougher brand of hockey.

Despite entering his NHL Draft year, the 17-year-old is focused on one thing and one thing only, the Cougars.

“I just play my game and worry about the team. Once the team get’s good, good things will come.”

Foster and the team will hope to exceed last years success all starting against the Spokane Chiefs, September 20th at the CN Centre.
