Evacuation alerts lifted for Sabina Lake and Mount Wells wildfires

NORTHERN B.C. — The Regional District of Bulkley Nechako has lifted two evacuation alerts.

The first is for the out-of-control Sabina Lake wildfire first issued on September 5, 2024. A total of 39 properties were affected by the alert. The lightning-caused fire is over 55,000 hectares in size.

The second alert is for the Mount Wells wildfire where 88 properties were affected. The over 14,000 hectare fire was also caused by lightning and is classified as out-of-control.
