Cougars bounced back with victory over Chiefs

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars earned a split with the Spokane Chiefs on opening weekend of the WHL regular season.
Jett Lajoie, Carlin Dezainde and Matteo Danis scored for the Cougars (1-0-1-0) in a 3-1 victory over the Chiefs (1-1-0-0) on Saturday (Sept. 21) at CN Centre, bouncing back from an overtime loss on Friday.
Prince George goaltender Josh Ravensbergen stopped 23 shots to pick up the victory between the pipes.
Mathis Preston tallied for the Chiefs in support of netminder Carter Esler, who stopped 35 shots in a losing effort.
