PRINCE GEORGE— Ahead of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation taking place on September 30, the College of New Caledonia is hosting a Calling for Action: Honouring Truth event.

This Wednesday, September 25, 2024 the College is inviting students, faculty, staff and the public to create a space for understanding, solidarity, and healing inside their Gathering Place. CNC encourages all attendees to wear orange to honour survivors of residential school and their families and to remember the children who never returned.

The event will feature traditional greetings, drumming, and storytelling by Elders , CNC leadership, students, and alumni.

“As a public college with deep roots and longstanding relations in north B.C., CNC strives to be a place of curiosity, empathy, and opportunity for all learners, in and beyond our classrooms and campuses,” said Media Relations Officer Jessie Scheele in a statement discussing the event.
