Mackenzie man charged with Second-Degree murder

NORTHERN B.C.— The BC Prosecution service has approved a charge of Second-Degree murder against Drake Matthew Kerr.
This after an RCMP North District Major Crime Unit investigation into an early morning September 29, 2024 shooting in Mackenzie. RCMP received reports of the shots fired at a residence located on the 100 block of Centennial Drive. Upon arrival officers located a deceased male inside the home.
A warrant has been issued for Kerr’s arrest. If you have any information relating to the incident or CCTV footage contact the North District Major Crimes Unit. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Drake Matthew Kerr is asked to contact Mackenzie RCMP at 250-997-3288.
