Cougars fall painfully shy of road point in Portland

The Prince George Cougars fell three seconds short of earning a point on the road on Saturday (Oct. 5) in Portland.

Ryan Miller of the Winterhawks tallied at 19:57 of the third period to lift his club to a 3-2 victory over the Cats in WHL action at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Viliam Kmec and Hunter Laing scored for Prince George in support of goaltender Cooper Michaluk, who stopped 30 shots in a losing effort.

The Cougars (4-2-1-0) will host the rematch on Tuesday (Oct. 8), a 7 p.m. start at CN Centre.
