Vanderhoof police investigate crash that claimed two lives

VANDERHOOF— Two people were killed in a tragic crash last Friday (Oct. 11) night on the 5800 Block of Sackner Road in Vanderhoof.

It all started when Vanderhoof RCMP say they were notified of a single vehicle crash involving an animal just before 8:30 p.m. that night.

Mounties say two people attended the scene to help with the animal involved collision but upon arrival they got into a separate two vehicle collision.

The vehicle they were in was struck by another vehicle causing their’s to flip onto its roof and trap the two inside.

Both occupants in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Police arrested one person at the scene in connection to the second crash and believe alcohol may have been involved.
