PRINCE GEORGE— The City of Prince George will be conducting bridge repair work on Ferguson Lake Road from October 21 to 30. During the work the Ferguson Lake Nature Reserve will be unavailable.

The work is part of the larger permanent bridge project due to flooding damaging the road in May.

A detour will be in place for local residents with th City asking everyone to keep the route for local traffic only.

During a September Council meeting, officials outlined necessary repairs to Ferguson Lake Road. The City allocated an additional $430,000 to the financial plan to fund the repairs.

Road staff have now secured work permits and will begin permanently installing a one-lane bridge. The project is estimated to save $440,000 compared to the alternative open-channel culvert designs, while still meeting environmental regulations for the fish habitats
