Conservative Candidate Sheldon Clare wins Prince George-North Cariboo riding

PRINCE GEORGE-NORTH CARIBOO – CKPG News is declaring BC Conservative Candidate Sheldon Clare the winner of the Prince George-North Cariboo riding.

UPDATE:9:05 p.m.

Following the CKPG News declaration that Clare won the riding, he has more than doubled the runner up’s vote total. The numbers are as follows:

  • Sheldon Clare, Conservative: 10,490 56.48%
  • Coralee Oakes, Independent: 4181, 22.51%
  • Denice Bardua, BC NDP: 3113, 16.76%
  • Randy Thompson, BC Green Party: 790, 4.25%

As of 8:35 p.m., the numbers are as follows:

  • Sheldon Clare, Conservative: 5278, 58.03%
  • Coralee Oakes, Independent: 1861, 20.46%
  • Denice Bardua, BC NDP: 1575, 17.43%
  • Randy Thompson, BC Green Party: 371, 4.08%

This will be a big change for the riding, as longtime incumbent candidate Coralee Oakes will no longer be representing the riding following a boundary shift, and Clare will step into the role as MLA for the first time in his career.
