Three Cougars named to NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Rankings

PRINCE GEORGE— Prince George Cougars goaltender Joshua Ravensbergen and forwards Jett Lajoie and Aiden Foster have been selected to NHL Central Scouting’s Preliminary Players to Watch list ahead of the 2025 NHL Draft.

Ravensbergen is listed as an ‘A’ rated player to watch which the Prince George Cougars say that it indicates him as a potential first-round selection. The North Vancouver, B.C. product has a 6-1-2-1 record, so far this season, and leads the Western Hockey League in wins. he 6’5 southpaw net-minder has also been selected to represent Team CHL and the CHL USA Prospects Showcase. In the 2023-24 season, Ravensbergen earned a 26-4-2-1 record, a 2.46 goals against average and a .907 save percentage. In addition, he tied a WHL rookie record for shutouts by a goaltender with six.

Jett Lajoie has been listed as a ‘C’ rated player to watch which the Cougars note that this marks the second year forward as a potential fourth or fifth round candidate. Lajoie has made a strong start to the 2024-25 season, collecting 12 points (7-5-12) in his first 13 games. He currently is tied for seventh in WHL scoring. Lajoie has already surpassed his point total from last season where he earned 10 points (6-4-10).

Aiden Foster has also earned a ‘C’ rating for players to watch. This is Fosters’ second WHL season and owns three assist in 13 games so far in this 2024-25 season. The Lloydminster A.B. product led the WHL in penalty minutes last season with 124. The 6’2″ winger also contributed a pair of points (1-1-2) in Prince George’s 2024 playoff run.
