Spruce Kings look to get back on track tonight in Powell River

PRINCE GEORGE— The Spruce Kings are kicking off a back-to-back tonight in Powell River. Following a tough loss last Saturday, 3-2 in shootouts to the Chilliwack Chiefs, Prince George are looking to grab their first win in nearly three weeks.

“We’re getting better, I mean it might not show in the results yet, but I really like their last three games,” said Head Coach Alex Evin on the teams current form. “I think we’re going in a good direction. We scratched out some points that I thought we deserved to probably win all three of those games, but it’s just a little bit more adversity for us and we need to be resilient.”

Despite going up against the 10th and current bottom team in the Coastal Conference, Evin understands there are no easy match-ups in the BCHL.

“It’s hard to win in this league and there’s no easy games. We’re not taking our opponent lightly by any means and we need to have a good weekend. We owe it to ourselves. We just have to make sure we’re rested and ready to go when the puck drops.”

This is Prince George’s only trip of the year to Powell River, and their last match-up with the Kings until the final weekend of the regular season.
