Cougars late comeback ends in shootout defeat
PRINCE GEORGE — A valiant effort from the Prince George Cougars came to a end with a shootout loss on Saturday.
Riley Heidt got the scoring started in the second period with his seventh of the year before the Victoria Royal netted three straight to take a 3-1 lead.
Aiden Foster got the home side Cougars back within a goal in the third with his first of the season, but a response just over a minute later left Prince George behind the eight ball.
With under four minutes remaining Heidt netted his second of the evening, followed by Viliam Kmec with 34 seconds left on the clock to tie the contest at 4-4.
