Spruce Kings earn weekend split in Powell River

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings were defeated 5-2 on Saturday night in Powell River, leaving with a weekend split.

Christian Maro earned first star honour for the Kings in the win, netting a hat trick, while keeper Elliot Pratt stopped 34 of 36 for the win.

Prince George got goals from Lucas Veilleux in the second and Mason Loewen in the third.

The Spruce Kings return home next weekend for the start of a four game homestand with the Victoria Grizzlies and Cowichan Valley Capital scheduled to play a pair of contests each at the Kopar Memorial Arena.
