QUESNEL — One person is dead after they were struck by a vehicle on the Barkerville Highway near Drummond Road Saturday night (Oct.27).
North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says the adult male was hit by a vehicle at around 7:45 p.m. while he was walking along the highway. Drummond Road is close to Highway 97.
She says the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. No criminality is expected to have occurred.
The incident closed the highway for around five hours as investigators attended the scene.
