PRINCE GEORGE—The PG Humane Society has a litter of rough collie-german shepherd pups and each one is just as adorable as the last. While you can visit them and even adopt one they won’t be ready for their new home until they’re eight weeks old.

“We do want to hang on to them and keep them together, until they’re eight weeks old for socialization,” explains Kelsey Macneil, a registered vet tech and animal behaviour coordinator for the PG Humane Society. “It’s really important for them to learn social skills from each other.”

These puppies have had one round of vaccines but will be needing will be getting some more until their 16 weeks old. Macneil says that the one big risk in Prince George is Parvo.

“It is a huge issue in our community, and surrounding area. Parvo virus can be deadly. It is a disease that mostly affects unvaccinated puppies and is the primary reason that vaccinating puppies is so important in our area,” notes Macneil.

If you would like to adopt these cuddly canines you can visit the PG Humane Society online or in person.
